About Honest Greenland
"When I started Honest Greenland, it was all about dogs. When I was growing up, my dog was my best friend and my grandfather always taught me that if you treat your animals properly they’ll be your friends for life. I wanted to change the dog sledding industry by teaching handlers to take proper care of their animals and by allowing tourists to see just how special our dogs are.
I love caring for the dogs, but after a while, I started missing the theatre and I wanted to find a way to use my creativity and my arts background in my new business. I started running mask dancing workshops and over time I added more cultural activities to our packages.
Now, Honest Greenland is about a mixture of things. It’s about art, it’s about animals and it’s about Aasiaat. Just like me."
- Sørine Peterson, Honest Greenland founder
Honest Greenland’s founder, Sørine Peterson is an actor, a dancer-turned-choreographer, and a proud Kalaallit who set out to give visitors to Aasiaat a glimpse of real life in the arctic. By organizing all her tours directly with local guides and performers, she has created a unique tourist agency that both benefits the local economy and provides travelers with a more authentic and culturally enriching experience.

This grassroots structuring also gives Honest Greenland the freedom to create customized packages according to visitor interests. With Sørine's performing background, entertainment is the agency specialty, and making sure Aasiaat's guests have a good time is always the top priority. Expeditions around the archipelago; mask dance performances; dog sledding; sailing - all activities are designed to leave guests feeling amazed, as well as allowing insight into the unique culture of northern Greenland.
